Problem Solver
Are you a problem solver? I usually find myself being one. I guess that my line of work has some influence on it. Whenever I am presented with a problem, my problem-solving mode immediately kicks in. The problem is that not every situation brought to me is for me to solve. Sometimes people just want to be heard. And let me tell you something: I find it difficult to change from problem solving mode to listening mode.
It is good to know that there are people that are very good listeners, and some that are blessed with the ability to be both: good listeners and problem solvers. But there are situations that even those with both abilities can’t handle. Fortunately for us, no matter the complexity of our situation, there is someone always available for you: Jesus Christ.
What better listener could there be than someone who really knows your feelings and deepest emotions? Jesus became a man and experienced the same pains and sufferings we experience. Jesus is the ultimate listener.
Jesus could have decided to leave us to the consequences of our sin, but because of God’s great love for us, he decided not only to be with us, but to rescue us by taking our place and paying the price for our sins. He paid our debt, then conquered death. He is the ultimate problem solver.
Knowing that Jesus is both the best listener and problem solver there could be, why do we allow thoughts to flood our minds and bring us down? Why do we go to him only as our last resource?
He died for you with a purpose. Come to him and start receiving the benefits of his love for you.
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. – Hebrews 4:16
