Vote
It is election time once again. We have the opportunity to choose the public servants that we understand will best represent us. This is not an easy process, but it is our responsibility to vote according to what we understand is best for ourselves, our families, and our nation. It is also our responsibility to vote having our principles, beliefs and values in mind.
It would be nice if the elected public servants considered the best ideas regardless of their political affiliations. But sadly, the process turns into a fight against each other, rather than a team working for the common good.
We cannot be surprised, because this division begins with us. I understand that there are many passions involved, but we have to be careful how we express ourselves to those who think differently. This process must begin with those who believe in God.
There is something we cannot forget. No government or political power will ever limit what God wants to do. The God who used pagan kings for His glory and used Paul during the rule of one of the worst Roman emperors (Nero), is the same now and forever.
Why am I sharing this? God will continue to be God if those who I think are good are elected, and God will also continue to be God if those who I think are bad are elected.
Yes, I have the responsibility to vote with my conscience. But regardless of the outcome, the kingdom of God will remain unshakable. Our goal is not to win followers for my political ideas, but to win souls for the kingdom of God.
May our conduct be such that when this political process is over, we may leave the doors open so that we can guide family members, neighbors, friends, co-workers and strangers to the path that leads to eternal life.
Vote for those you think are the best candidates, but above all vote for the kingdom of God to manifest through us.
