Injustice
Every day the injustices of humanity seem to multiply. But it greatly hurts when these acts are carried out by those who are supposed to protect us.
Prejudice causes some to not relate with their neighbor with the respect that every human being deserves. The color of your skin, your ethnicity, your sex, your language, your culture, your social level, your profession or your preferences might be different from mine, but Jesus gave his life on the cross for each and every one of us. That is the measure of your worth and mine. It is not what you have or do not have, and much less your appearance. The world can judge you for these things, but God looks at your heart.
We get frustrated by the injustices, and we would like to stop the cycle. But consciously or not, we have all contributed to the situation in one way or another. At some point we have been unfair to family members, neighbors, friends, colleagues and even strangers. At some point we have unfairly used our position, our profession, our money, our talents, our actions, our time, our words or the way we look at others. And if you think you have never failed in any of these, have you ever been unfair against God? Since Eden, each and every one of us has been unjust against God.
None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. – Romans 3:10-11
If we want justice, we have to make sure that everyone pays the price: including ourselves. Who then can bring justice? Only God.
And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption – 1 Corinthians 1:30
No matter who you are, where you come from, how you look, or how you feel, only Jesus satisfies your need for justice and much more.
