Are you important?
In each electoral event the candidates make their best effort to convince the voters that he or she is the best option for the position. As part of the process, they try to make us understand that we are important to them, and that our vote is valuable.
However, those of us who have experienced multiple electoral cycles have learned that the promises made during political campaigns tend to be forgotten. During the campaign they make me feel that I have courage, but then they forget me, and I become just another number.
That is the reality of this world. We only count when they need us. Why then do we put our hope where there is none?
Though the world does not value us, each of us is important to God.
who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. – Philippians 2: 6-8
The love of God for you and for me is so great that he decided to personally take the punishment required for our restoration.
The high cost of the crucifixion represents how valuable we are to God. Even more, he wants us to see each other with the same importance with which he sees us.
in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus – Philippians 2: 3-5
You are not just another number You are extremely valuable. Put your trust in the one who gives value to your life.
