It is time for action – part 1
We are living in increasingly difficult times. Almost every day we receive news of fatalities involving the lives of innocent people. Now the shocking news are not related to drug trafficking or organized crime deaths, but rather to people killing other people for no reason. Sadly this is becoming common. Imagine if we were at war! But the truth is that we are at war, only it is one of spiritual nature.
We could spend time analyzing how we got to this situation. We could blame the government and the decisions that have been taken in the last fifty years. But what we call the government is nothing more than people who are part of a family like you and me. They are only putting into practice what they learned from their family and from society.
We could claim rights from the government (as the apostle Paul did), but we cannot expect the government to do what we are supposed to do as followers of Christ. The law has never been able to change hearts (the Bible is our witness); that can only happen through a real encounter with Jesus.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? – Romans 10:14
Who will hear the voice of this calling? Let’s not forget that our battle is of spiritual nature (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, we need soldiers willing to retake the spiritual weapons and ‘go into all the world‘ to advance the kingdom of God.
It is time for action. What are we going to do about it?
