It is time for action – Part 2
We are living difficult times and we need an urgent change. This change can occur only if the people of God decide to take action, but we have to start the change with ourselves. We have gradually yielded to the influences of the world and have forsaken the biblical foundation. I know it sounds harsh, but I would like to invite you to meditate about this.
If you asked the people who know you (not counting those that are part of your church), how would they describe Jesus based on your example? Can they describe Jesus from my example? Do I show others that Jesus is my Lord? Am I using the talents that God gave me? If so, am I doing it so that ‘His Kingdom come’ or for my own benefit? And, if I’m not living the abundant life Jesus promised me, how can I expect others to live it?
The purpose of these words is not to accuse anyone or make anyone feel bad. Rather, its purpose is to share this burden that I know is common to us. The battle is hard; ‘in the world we will have tribulation’. But while we are in this world we are part of an unshakable kingdom, and no matter how difficult times may seem, ‘the gates of hell shall not prevail’.
It depends on each one of us to initiate a change that starts with our lives, expands to our families and has an impact on the rest of society. It is the responsibility of those who call ourselves ‘the church of Christ’ to introduce people to the Jesus that freed us, gave us life and who is a delight to follow.
It is time for action. What are we going to do about it?
