Season Pass
Have you ever bought a Season Pass to an attraction? They usually are a little expensive but they provide a lot of benefits if you want to go the the attraction multiple times during the season.
- No lanes to make to get your tickets.
- Free parking or parking discounts
- Go as many times as you want
- Special events
- etc.
Sounds like a good deal, but only if you take advantage of all the benefits. Last year I bought season passes for my family to an attraction near our house. I thought I made a good deal. However, after the initial excitement of the first three visits, we didn’t go back to the attraction. So, my initial calculation of the benefits of buying a season pass were not met. You can imagine how it feels to have the right to do something, but not taking advantage of it.
That is what happens with most people. Jesus said that he came so we could have an abundant life (John 10:10b), but we don’t take advantage of it. Jesus got a season ticket for us, but we got conformed with the initial benefits we received.
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. – Ephesians 1:17-19
Why shall we conformed with less than the riches of his glorious inheritance, and his incomparably great power? We are not missing our investment, but we are missing the opportunity to live the abundant life Jesus won for us.
Are you going to settle for a mediocre life? Not me. I want my portion of the riches of his glorious inheritance, and his incomparably great power acting in my life.
