Happy Independence Day
Happy Independence Day! No. You did not read wrong. Anyway, everyone celebrates Independence Day on a different date according to their country. But my wishes are not because we are celebrating a specific country’s Independence Day. Rather, I am congratulating you because in this day we can all celebrate today.
Nearly two thousand years ago, the Son of God came to this earth to offer his life as a perfect sacrifice in our place so that we all have the opportunity to reconcile with our Creator. But their mission does not end at the cross. If that were the case, those who received the benefit of His sacrifice would be free but without a country, since we would be forgiven but without hope.
The mission of our Savior had its peak when he rose from the dead on the day that we celebrate today, known as Easter Sunday. With this event He conquered death not only for him, but for all those who have put our faith in Him.
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. – John 6:40
Through the resurrection of Jesus our hope is fulfilled, since the opportunity to return to our country, our heavenly home, is restored. This is a good reason for everyone to celebrate!
Wherever you are, have a Happy Independence Day!
