Renewed
Many people are eagerly awaiting springtime with hope, especially those who have gone through a harsh winter. After all, who will not gladly receive the renewal that spring brings: blossoming trees, birds singing, warm temperatures, etc.
Though we might be tired of the cold weather, the snow, heating bills, and other things that we do not like about the season, one thing is certain: no matter how bad the winter has been, it will end and spring will come.
There are problems in our lives that resemble the effects of a severe winter. We cannot avoid winter. In the same way, we can’t avoid difficult seasons in our lives.
Sometimes we face problems so difficult that we don’t know how to overcome them. It is at this point that some feel that their life is falling apart. However, those who love God are confident that no matter how difficult our problems are, we will reach a new season where our lives will be renewed with the blessings that result from a relationship with our Savior.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good… – Romans 8:28
This doesn’t mean that every problem will be resolved as we expect, but rather that the end result will agree with what God knows is best for us.
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life…will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord… – Romans 8:37-39
To be able to say that I am more than a conqueror regardless of the difficulties in this life, or even death, is a level of assurance unimaginable to many. The world has accustomed us to defeat and pain, and has blinded our senses to this hope.
There is no reason for us to conform to a winter of despair. Give your life to Christ and let his love bring you the reality of a new spiritual springtime.
