Riches
The Oxford Learner’s dictionary translate riches as ‘large amounts of money and valuable or beautiful possessions’. The hidden desire of many people is to become rich. Just do an online search for the phrase ‘how to become’ and immediately the option shown is ‘how to become a millionaire‘. The truth is that even if getting rich is not our dream and is not on our list of priorities, there are many good things that can be done with wealth at our disposal.
Of course, one thing is wishing about having riches and another is to achieve it. But let us not lose hope for the greatest wealth that we can dream of is available to us.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints – Ephesians 1:17-18
There are many people who can testify that riches have brought them destruction instead of satisfaction. Even if that is not the case, whatever wealth we can accumulate will stay behind once our life on this earth ends.
In contrast, God does not only offer us eternal life, but also an inheritance of riches. These are not riches as defined in dictionaries, but riches in such magnitude that we need a spirit of wisdom and revelation from God in order to understand it.
Rejoice in the inheritance that you will receive through Jesus Christ your Lord.
