An object of great value
The importance of an object comes from the material or sentimental value it has for the owner. This value, in turn, defines how the owner will care for that object.
Some objects can be particularly valuable because of their cost, but I think the most valuable objects are those that have sentimental meaning to us.
Let’s use the guitar as an example. A guitar can be used by a person with the ability to produce music. This in itself makes a guitar valuable. But its value increases, if in addition, this guitar belongs to a famous artist. There are some famous guitarists that after delighting their audience with a great performance, destroy the guitar at the end of the concert. I’m sure this guitar would have been of great value to many of those attending the concert. However, the original owner saw no more value on the guitar than the opportunity to play it during the concert and the excitement that may have resulted from the destruction of the guitar. For this artist, this guitar was just an object that could be replaced. As we can observe, the value of an object depends on the point of view of the person that values ??it. If there is something everyone can agree on, it is that the guitar has no value after it is destroyed.
On the other hand, there is the example of the person who pays a fortune to obtain a collectible. The collectible item might have no value for some people, but for this person it is very valuable indeed.
Is there something that has great value to you? How much are you willing to give in order to acquire it? Furthermore, how much are you willing to give for your life?
Sometimes we are treated (or we treat ourselves) as objects of little or no value. We live according to what we believe is the purpose of our lives, and at the end we feel like we deserve to be destroyed like the guitar at the end of the concert. We might not be able to identify the value of our lives, but to God we are objects of great value.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
Our value to God is so great that he decided to give what was more important to Him (His Son) for us, even though we were living in disobedience, so we could have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. Could a higher price be paid for a valuable item than the life of the Son of God?
The purpose of your life is that you become a child of God and an heir of eternal life. Let nobody fool you. You are an object of great value.
