Because of love
Each day criticisms intensify against Christians that want to express their beliefs according to the word of God. They call us archaic, bigots, and lately, they even want to classify our words as hate crimes. The truth is the opposite. The Bible teaches that sin is every behavior that from the point of view of God is harmful to us. These teachings are not done because God is a bigot, but because of his great love for us, since “God does not want anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Nobody likes to be pointed out. But it is better to be pointed out if it is for my own good.
When someone is accused of committing a crime that person cannot say that he/she shall not be found guilty because he/she disagree with such law, as that will not prevent that person to be judged according to the law. The same way we can’t have such excuse before a judge, we won’t have any valid excuse before God.
Unfortunately it looks like some people care more about what other people think about them, than what God thinks about them. It looks like they want to remove the keys from the kingdom of heaven from God, and decide themselves who shall enter the kingdom of God. It is as they were telling God “you were wrong with what you allowed to be written in your word with respect to who can inherit your kingdom” (Romans 1:28-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Galatians 5:19-21). This people give the impression that they support sinful behavior because of love. But the truth is that with their actions they are doing the same as someone that knows about a possible accident, and instead of warning the person about to have the accident they tell that person “keep going on, everything is going to be fine.” That is not love, but rather deception.
The Church of Jesus has a responsibility to fulfill. If we stay silent and hide the warnings on the word of God then we are not fulfilling the commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves. Of course, the main word here is love. Thus, it is because of love, and with love.
It is time to decide. If we appreciate more about our friendship with this world (James 4:4) we will stay silent, but if we appreciate more about our friendship with God, we shall open our mouth and speak the truth in the bible. The reason is clear: it is because of love.
