The Candidate
In these days we will be voting (or have already voted) for the people that will become the leaders of this nation. Some will select their candidates based on the platform of their favorite political party. Others will select the candidates based on specific characteristics they understand the person must have in order to become a leader. No matter the method a person uses to select the candidates, the selection is ultimately driven by a hope that the selected candidates will drive the nation in the correct path.
Each candidate has made different promises about what they plan to do in order to improve the lives of the citizens of this nation. Those who get elected will do their best to improve the economy, education, health care costs, provide energy alternatives, jobs, etc. However, there is one thing none of the candidates will be able to do: change your life.
Jesus is the only candidate that can change our lives. He is the only want that can bring real happiness to our lives. Other candidates might show a lot of achievements in their resume. But none has done what Jesus did for us,
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. – John 15:13
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
The selected candidates might be able to improve our lives to some extend, but none of them will ever be able to offer you what Jesus won by shedding His blood: eternal life.
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – John 10:10
And not only He gives us eternal life, but He gives us the opportunity to live a better life.
On Election Day go and vote for your candidates. But every single day of your life elect to put your hope in the candidate that gave His life to give you life, JESUS
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory – Colossians 1:27
