Lost and Found
Have you ever spent time looking for your glasses while you’re wearing them? How exasperating when we spend time looking for something that is not lost!
Situations such as illnesses, financial issues, family problems, among others, can make us fall into a state of despair. Despair in turn blurs us, forcing us to fix our eyes only on the problem and live as if hope has been lost. And living without hope is not living at all.
How can we talk about hope in a life full of problems?
In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. – John 16:33
The word of God doesn’t hide the reality of the sufferings that we will face in the world, but it also shows the reality of the hope of victory in Jesus.
If the problems of life make you think that hope is lost, I invite you to make this prayer yours.
… the guarantee of our inheritance… [I pray], that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead…- Ephesians 1: 13-20
If only we could see what is reserved for us! Hope … inheritance … immeasurable power (even over death). But we allow temporary things to cloud our view of the eternal.
Do not let the problems fool you. Your life is not lost.
your life is hidden with Christ in God. – Colossians 3: 3
Stop looking at your problems and you will find your hope of life in Christ Jesus.
