Season Finale
If you like watching TV shows, you are familiar with season finales, that is, the final episode of a season of a show. The show doesn’t end here. This is just the preparation for the next season.
Life is similar to the seasons in TV shows. People can go through different seasons in their lives: marriage, parenting, professional career, retirement, etc.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven… – Ecclesiastes 3
Seasons can bring us battles, suffering, victories, joy, etc., with each season having its own finale.
There will be a time when the series finale of our lives will need to be played. We don’t know when, but we need to be sure that this is the best episode.
[God] has put eternity into man’s heart – Ecclesiastes 3:11
Our lives do not end with our final episode on earth. Every one of us will face eternity.
… an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. – John 5:28-29
The scripts in TV shows often include a point where the main character seems to have no options. However, it is scripted it is such a way for the show to have a triumphant end. Sin brought up to the point of no options (Romans 3:23). But through Jesus, God allows us to inherit the resurrection of life (Romans 6:23).
We are in charge of our own script. We can’t control everything, but we can decide where we will spend eternity.
Do you want a good ending for your series finale? Make sure to allow Jesus to play the leading role. An eternal season awaits.
