Where are your eyes fixed on?
Life is not easy. No matter our age, sex, nationality, race, or social class, problems reach us all. Disease, anxiety, depression, discrimination, financial troubles or any other situation that you have had or might be going through–it is easy to become absorbed in these thoughts. There is only one thing you see, and that is your problem.
In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. – John 16:33
Jesus is not unaware of our situation. He warned us about the sufferings that life would bring. Jesus knew that we would have plenty of problems in this world full of corruption. But our Lord did not leave us abandoned. With his death and resurrection, he sealed the promise he made when he said: “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
I don’t know what problem is taking over your mind. But there is something I know: if you remove your eyes from your problem and fix them on Jesus, your sorrow will be transformed into the peace that only the Lord can give you.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4: 6-7
