Is life unfair?
Some people do not remember God until they have a problem. While all is well they keep God away from their lives, but when something bad happens they dare to complain to God and ask him “Why do you allow this?”
I think it’s an innate feeling to think that all we do is good, and that we are righteous. This is why when something negative happens we feel like we do not deserve it, and that someone is to be blamed for it. “I do not deserve to get sick; I do not deserve to be poor; I do not deserve to be a parent of kids with problems, I do not deserve problems in my marriage; I do not deserve to die.”
Sadly this sentiment is being reflected at a national level. We have closed our doors to God.
- We do not want God to be considered in our children’s education
- We do not want God’s name mentioned in our government
- We do not want God to be considered in our laws because “we are more righteous than He is”
- We celebrate the establishment of laws of “justice” even if these laws go against the God’s law
- We allow politicians to fool us, knowing that they only consider God during their campaigns but cast him aside as soon as they are in power
We have closed our doors to God, but when problems affect our nation or we face any kind of disaster we dare to ask God “Where were you? Why didn’t you protect us? Why did you fail us?” It is as if we were telling God “Stay still right where you are. Stay out of our affairs. But do not forget that you have an obligation to us. You have to answer our prayers. ”
Even in cultures that served pagan gods people humiliated before their gods so they could receive their protection. In their ignorance they did what they understood was right. But we in our “knowledge” have reduced the true God to our servant, and have exalted ourselves to gods.
Is life unfair? What do we deserve?
As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” – Romans 3:10-12
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God – Romans 3:23
If we all have sinned, and no one is right, what do we deserve?
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 6:23
We can set our own standards of justice but when our time comes to be before God we will only be measured according the standards set by God.
Is life unfair? I truly believe that God does not give us what we deserve. Woe to us if he did! While we are in this world, everyone (believers or not) will be exposed to problems and injustices, most of which are the result of the corruption of humanity.
Does life seem unfair? Let your ally through life injustices be the knowledge that a day will come when you will receive the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ – Romans 5:1
