A door closes
Nobody likes when the doors in life are closed, but sometimes when one door closes it is because there is a better one that will be opened.
Naomi had her doors closed. She became a widow (Ruth 1:3), and lost her children (1:5), basically becoming basically helpless.
When our doors close it is easy to fall prey to frustration.
But she said to them, “Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full, and the Lord has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the Lord has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?” – Ruth 1:20-21
But when God is present in our lives, though we might not understand, the doors that have closed are intended to bring a greater blessing. For Naomi, the doors that were closed in Moab were intended to make her return to his homeland with his daughter in law Ruth, opening a door that would allow Ruth, though Moabite, to eventually become part of the genealogy of Jesus.
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham… Boaz begot Obed by Ruth… And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ. -Matthew 1:1-16
I do not know what doors have closed in your life, but I know that if you put your trust in Jesus other doors will open to bring a greater blessing.
Put your hope in God, and your door will open.
