Technology is advancing at a rapid pace. One area that surprises me is the progress in automotive technology. This technology has come to the point where there are self-driving cars. There are several systems involved and they must all interact in order for an automobile to work according to its design. To achieve this goal, many hours are spent in specifications, design, planning, testing, manufacturing, etc.
But as amazing as technology is, it doesn’t compare to creation.
Think of the human body. Multiple systems work in harmony so that the body can perform all its functions. These systems work in perfect synchronization without requiring any software, operating system, or updates. From the moment of conception, the body is developed without the need of engineers, technicians, programmers or project managers. The body has the intelligence required to achieve its own development. As if that wasn’t enough, it has the ability to repair and renew its own cells.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. – Psalm 139: 13-14
So whether we speak of the human body, the systems that support life on earth, galaxies, etc., nothing compares to the wonders of creation.
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. – Psalms 19: 1
However, everything created lacks wonder when compared to the God of creation. God not only created us; He also gave us the opportunity to redeem our mortal bodies, offering us–through faith in Jesus Christ–the reward of eternal life with Him in an incorruptible body. This is simply amazing!
There are innumerable reasons to be amazed at the God of creation. May our reaction to this truth lead us to a life of continuous obedience and gratitude to God!
