How important is a title?
Titles are used to define government positions (President, judge, mayor), job positions (Executive Director, supervisor, secretary), professions (teacher, doctor), ecclesiastical positions (pastor, prophet, bishop), and even to identify the person or the team that reached the biggest achievement in a competition (champions).
Titles are generally used to define structure. For most organizations titles are important because they define the responsibility and the decisional power of each person in the organization. An example is international treaties which are signed by government representatives of major importance (those with the title of President or equivalent).
Many people work hard all their lives to achieve a title. For others, titles are something they don’t care about. No matter which of these two groups you are in, there is a title that we should all yearn for: “children of God“.
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. – John 1: 12-13
There is no title more important than becoming a child of God. Any other title will stay behind when our lives are over, however, this title takes us into eternity. To achieve a title we have to work hard, and some are not achieved without influence or money. But we got the most important title of all without work, influence, or sacrifice, as these requirements were fulfilled for us by Jesus.
Receive the title of child of God through Jesus.
