Where are the chocolates?
Several weeks after Valentine’s Day it is expected that the chocolates you got are gone by now. Of course, if the one who you gave the chocolates did it for love, you can expect to receive more at any time.
The truth is that as humans we sometimes wish to give laxative instead of chocolates (Warning: Do not try this at home). Our emotions are easily influenced by circumstances. Petty differences, misunderstandings and things like these impact our relationship with our loved ones.
As offenders in our relationship with God, we would expect rejection from him. But, is good to know that God is not like us! It is true that sin separates us from the presence of God (Romans 3:23), but it is also true that his love for us is so immense that he gave his son in sacrifice for our sins, giving us the opportunity to restore our relationship with him.
If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. – Romans 8: 31-34
There is nothing in this world that can separate you from God’s love. Only you can reject it. As a chocolate lover, there is no reason for me to refuse a chocolate. Much less, there is no reason to reject the gift of love and life that God gives me.
Chocolates might be gone by now, but there will not be a day in your life when you will stop receiving God’s supply of love.
